Messages By BeelzebubU.S. military promises to cooperate with Japanese police over taxi driver's murder
The driver was unusually polite and deferential, even though it is highly unlikely I could be mistaken for a member of the U.S. military. (Since I'm elderly, bent over and walk with a cane.) Word sure gets around.
There have been occasions when I had mixed feelings about missionaries as well. But considering what the man went through, I'm sure he had the best of motives. Incidentally Mitsuo Fuchida, the naval pilot who led the first wave attack on Pearl Harbor and who sent the famous "Tora, tora, tora!" messsage, became a Christian evangelist after the war. Some missionaries, it seems, were home grown. I'm just thankful I never had to go through what those people did.
Which means taking this job would be like volunteering for combat patrol in Falluja, Iraq. Nobody in his right mind would want it.
by letting NOVA get back in business!
Humans don't always reciprocate they way you like, but they don't shed, can make conversation about the weather, and you don't have to take them out to poop three times a day.
and other noncontroversial subjects, we wind up with the lobotomized citizenry that populate Japan today. The ministry of education should turn its textbook selection over to the editors of Shonen Jump. Come to think of it, they already did.
to push their stupid heads under the water and hold them there until they shut up.
I saw him! I really did! In fact I danced with him in a Roppongi disco. After five or six drinks we went to a hotel together and then I blacked out. Woke up with my wallet and passport missing. Too embarrassed to report it. Damn, I feel like a real schmuck.
Hehe, wait until the uyoku start burning down the theaters!
will be a shootout with the South Korean navy over who owns Takeshima (or Tokdo, depending on who's talking).
Thanks for the authentically pedantic legal gibberish. Perhaps I should clarify my prediction. Even if Miura goes to trial (which is iffy), I don't expect it to culminate in a guilty verdict. The LA prosecutor is playing too loose with too many procedures, on a cold case that lacked sufficient evidence 27 years ago. Why should it be any different now?
This whole thing is turning out to be a sort of mini-O.J. affair. When it's all said and done, the outcome of this jolly farce will be determined, not on the basis of Miura's guilt or innocence, but on legal technicalities.
of Japanese eschew watches entirely, and just get the time from their keitai. It's not only accurate, but never out of their hands for a more than a few waking moments, usually only when they are utilising toilet tissue. (If then.)
status in Korea should be allowed to vote in Korean elections. Have we got a deal, Ambassador Yu?
The defenders of the Alamo were not kamikazes. They held out believing, almost to the very end, that Gen. Sam Houston would mount an attack against Santa Ana's troops and rescue them. One more thing that the writer apparently chose to overlook deserves mention: many of the Alamo's defenders were Tejanos (ethnican Mexicans) seeking greater autonomy from Mexico City's heavy-handed control.
its beliefs on me, I would go out of my way to offend its believers. Muslims want to exercise without males around, let them build their own gym. I won't complain a bit if they make rules banning me from using it. PS: The administration of Harvard U. doesn't strike me as being very intelligent.
I bought a Casio watch, which looks a lot like a Tag-Hauer ripoff, for 5,000 yen. It is robust, comfortable to wear and keeps incredibly accurate time. (Maybe one minute off every year, if that.) It even looks good. It's so good, in fact, I can't see myself replacing it any time soon. When the time comes, I would certainly buy another Casio watch. Might even pay 10,000 yen for it. But 300,000 would be an unnecessary indulgence.
uh, I think you guys spelled "sucks" incorrectly.
who fatally shoot themselves should be awarded posthumous medals. This limited offer expires in 30 days. Hurry up, gents!
For cryin' sakes! This is real life, not Hollywood. Let justice take its course. There is need for glamourpuss to get involved.
could someone use a fire-breathing monster that burned down the Tokyo waterfront as an icon for discouraging his legions of pyromaniac fans. LOL!
When civilian airports are expected to share runways with military bases.
against Japan.
of Gaza, Hamas began launching missiles at them. So what's the incentive for the Israelis to leave the West Bank, let alone agree to establishment of a Palistinian state, when they know they would just get more of the same?
I suppose this is the next best thing.
