N Korea denuke steps must be confirmed before fuel aid: Japan

TOKYO — Japan on Wednesday reiterated its stance that North Korea should be provided no energy aid unless there is convincing evidence that it will shut down and suspend its nuclear activities in line with a six-party agreement.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuhisa Shiozaki said in a regular news conference that North Korea's initial denuclearization steps and the energy aid should "take place simultaneously" and "not one before the other," adding Pyongyang must carry out its overdue pledge whose April deadline is long past.

NK will always be a little jerk of a nation.

No one who has basic pattern recognition/common sense should entertain NK on anything more than the idea that humoring them will keep them from nuking whatever they can.

I have no doubt that some of the NK elite are astounded that the rest of the world still pays them lip service. The fact people still make treaties with this notoriously untrustworthy government makes me really believe that the only people who fall for e-mail scams are in foriegn relations. Four years from now when they announce they have a missile that can hit washington dc will anyone be shocked?
