TOKYO — Toyota on Friday outlined its motor sports activities for 2008, introducing newly signed German F-1 racer Timo Glock as well as Kamui Kobayashi who has been trained in the Toyota Young Drivers Program (TDP) which aims to foster young drivers within the company.

Besides F-1, Toyota also said it would focus on NASCAR, Super GT and Formula Nippon, and on training drivers that can perform on the world stage. Toyota will race its Camry in NASCAR in the United States and run its Lexus SC430 in Super GT in Japan. Through its motor sports activities, Toyota said it wishes to attract more public attention to its cars as well as enhance its hybrid systems.
