TOKYO NEC Leasing Ltd said Monday that it has agreed to set up a joint venture with a Japanese unit of Macquarie Group Ltd to sell end-of-lease information and communications equipment, including personal computers.
The joint company will have capital of up to 500 million yen, which will be equally put up by NEC Leasing and the Japanese unit of the major Australian financial firm. The new company will sell used products, including PCs, mainly in Southeast Asian and African countries to meet growing demand in the regions, NEC Leasing said.
