The only I can think he has evaded capture is through rich, cooperative parents. He might be living in a small apartment somewhere under an assumed name, paying cash, never stepping out and having food delivered. However, the police are sure to have followed that one up, knowing that someone must be financially supporting him.

He just slipped out an unguarded back entrance of the apartment building. The cops had just arrived and hadn't yet set up a perimeter.
They had just arrived, but they weren't setting up a perimeter. He wasn't a murder suspect yet. They got his name from a drawing he left at Lindsey's apartment and were coming to ask him if he knew anything. They got to the door just as he was on his way out, introduced themselves and he pushed past them and ran.
AFTER all that they entered his apartment and found the body.
But at the time he bolted all they knew was that he knew her and her room-mate(s) said he was "weird".

Probably paid hundreds of thousands of yen for this mock-up, when all they needed was a quick trip to the Purikura booth.

I believe that I saw the guy-you can't say for sure-a few months back. I've always been good at remembering faces. I'm 178cm and the guy, dressed as a woman seemed taller than me. It was a really weird situation and I'm pretty sure that nobody would believe me. I was looking for a place to tell someone but I am definitely not going to the Japanese police. I can tell you where he got on the train, in which direction he was heading, and approx day and time.

he either fled the country and is hanging out in vietnam or some place or dead in the fuji forrests. well he seems to be a survivor to me. he out ran and out smarted 9 cops bare foot. he parents probably paid the yakuza or some right wing outfit a few dollards and repatriated him. the cops should follow them next vacation.
In that case they would have told the cops, in order to earn some j-satsu karma points
Have to agree with Romulus and Nessie. The reason he ran is because he doesn't want to be caught or pay the price. Parents also have money and a little goes a long way with the right people. I enjoy the poster though. Someone had a fun day at the office making those. Very creative, albeit another insulting slap in the face to Lindsay's parents.

...that a discrete interval was provided to the parents (doctors, good people, you understand) which probably gave them enuf time to figure out how to get him out of the country. As mentioned above, he's probably somewhere in Asia.

There has been zero pressure put on his RICH DOCTOR parents. If I was the dead girl's dad I would be on a mission to start getting up Ichihashi family's noses asap.

As usual, the locals that inhabit this site have failed to ask the most obvious question, what on earth would inspire the Chiba police to create these two new images ? Has there been some news or information that Ichihashi is disguising himself as a woman ? Why the red tinted hair and glasses ? Seems to me that there is a reason for these two particular images… but then again I am speaking from a “logical” viewpoint !

In other news, I spent the day wandering around Tokyo yesterday, from Ginza to Roppingi Hills. I didn't see one of these new posters up ! No kidding !
